Jon Heredia, Esq.

Jon Heredia is an entrepreneurial lawyer who represents individuals and companies involved in the cannabis industry. Mr. Heredia concentrates his practice in transactional negotiations involving securities, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, and intellectual property. Mr. Heredia frequently works with ‘social equity operators’ – individuals who have been arrested for previous cannabis crimes and come from neighborhoods disproportionately impacted by the War on Drugs. Mr. Heredia also owns multiple cannabis businesses in California ranging from dispensaries and delivery services to cultivation facilities. He serves as Director of Business Development and Chief Legal Officer, providing legal and business guidance in securing investments, brand partnerships, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Mr. Heredia is a professor of cannabis law at Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco and is a member on California’s Board of State and Community Corrections Proposition 64 Public Health & Safety Grant (Prop 64) Scoring Panel. Mr. Heredia received his J.D. from New York Law School and his B.A. from the University of San Francisco. Mr. Heredia is admitted to practice in New York and is a member of the New York Bar Association and the International Cannabis Bar Association. In conjunction with his legal vocation and expansion of the cannabis space, Mr. Heredia is also a recognized proponent of New York’s lifestyle and culture scene. Starting as general manager of Brooklyn Bodega (producers of the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival - founded by Wes Jackson), Mr. Heredia eventually started his own creative agency, producing events and lifestyle programming for clients like Nike, Redbull, Beats By Dre, Marriott and High Times. Mr. Heredia has also served as attorney for streetwear companies such as Rocksmith, 10Deep, and Wu-Tang Brand Limited.
